                 The Earth

         Morning dew wets boots.

         Morning star draws gaze upward.

         Owl offers last hoot.

         Milked cows sigh relief,

         Turn, look gratefully rearward.

         White, warm, liquid gift.

         Summer corn raises

         Tassel fingers stretching upward.

         Growth sounds sing praises.

         Hay bales form a stack.

We climb up and ride homeward.

         Sun sets. We are back.

Whether or not there is a God

Life lived upon the earth is good.
